Given the importance of maize and more recently the soybean export programmes, SACOTA and PPECP took the initiative to organise discussions between members and PPECB staff. SACOTA hosted the discussions at the Grain Building in Pretoria and PPECB presented several important key regulatory issues that are impacting on the export trade. It dealt with both deep-sea exports and cross-border trade into Africa. PPECP is responsible for certifying all exports ensuring it complies with regulatory standards. It has been the first workshop of its type since the South African grain and oilseed export programme started to excel during Covid two years ago and with another promising year awaiting the industry.
